With over a decade of experience, Amy’s approach to law is not about providing legal services but about crafting personalized solutions that protect and empower her clients and their families.
At the core of Amy’s practice is her passion for estate planning and special needs planning. She meticulously drafts customized wills, trusts, marital property agreements, and powers of attorney, each tailored to meet the unique needs and aspirations of her clients. Amy also enjoys the challenge of drafting more complex estate plans, including special needs trusts, irrevocable grantor trusts and life insurance trusts.
Amy also handles probate and trust administrations, including complex and contentious administrations. Her experience extends to resolving probate and trust disputes, where she adeptly navigates mediation and litigation processes to uphold her clients’ interests.
Beyond her estate planning services, Amy is a fervent advocate for disability rights and elder law. She represents individuals who have faced discrimination, helping them secure reasonable accommodations in education, housing, and employment. Additionally, Amy aids in navigating the complex realms of Medicaid and Family Care Services, offering support through the appeals process. Her elder law experience also involves Medicaid asset protection strategies, including the use of irrevocable trusts.
Amy writes articles on special needs planning for the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils and the State Bar of Wisconsin and gives numerous presentations on various estate planning, special needs planning and elder law topics. She also serves as an advisor for the Elder and Special Needs Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Amy received her J.D., cum laude, from Regent University Law School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Policy from Northwestern University.
When not practicing law, Amy enjoys traveling, the local coffee shop, spending time with her nieces and nephew, and being actively involved in her church.
